Job Shadowing Experience in Seville through Erasmus+
Our visit to Seville, as part of the Erasmus program and the job shadowing action, was a unique opportunity to get an in-depth understanding of the Spanish education system, exchange views, and explore new teaching approaches.
During our week at the Ceip San Jose Obrero school, we attended lessons in the classrooms, gaining direct insight into teaching methods, the interaction between teachers and students, and the learning environment. The tour of the school’s facilities allowed us to see firsthand how the educational spaces are organized and what infrastructure supports teaching and the well-being of students.
Particularly interesting was our communication with the students and teachers, where we discussed school life, daily practices, and the challenges they face. One of the key topics we addressed was the application of well-being in the school, exploring ways in which the emotional and psychological well-being of both students and teachers is supported.
Through these discussions, we laid the foundation for possible future collaboration between the two schools, with the aim of exchanging best practices and strengthening our international educational relations. Additionally, we had the opportunity to compare the educational systems of Greece and Spain, identifying similarities, differences, and potential ideas for implementation.
This experience was extremely enriching, as it provided us with new perspectives and inspiration for our own teaching. Our interaction with a different educational environment helped us discover new approaches and practices that we can incorporate into our own school.
We would like to thank the headmistress and teaching staff at Ceip San Jose Obrero for their warm hospitality and willingness to share their experiences with us. Special thanks go to Erasmus coordinator Fernanda Duran Romero for her support and the organization of this wonderful experience.
This trip was undertaken by the teachers Despoina Ntona, Maria Pasarouga, and Stella Ligoura, representing the 130th Primary School of Athens.
